Christmas Gloves for Men

As a mom with two little boys I do not have much time to do much more than keep my house semi-clean, but in the little time I have I like to pursue many different projects. Most of the time these projects encompass crochet projects, but I also like to make things for the house and my kids. My latest "project" has been getting a head start on my Christmas gifts. Usually this process starts about February to April, but because of events that have occurred this year my gift giving is at a much smaller and personal level this year so I have gotten to start much later this year.

I am also finding that I have almost completed the bare minimum for making sure that everyone on my list receives a gift. One of my favorites is a crochet men's fingerless glove that I have just completed five pairs of. This is an amazingly fast project that I managed to complete all five pairs with in a week. The picture below is just one of the five I completed.

I used a worsted weight yarn to complete this project that will be given to a tween boy neighbor of mine. For small projects like this I like to delve into my "stash" of yarn that has begun to take over our master bedroom. Mostly due to the fact that I find myself at the receiving end of yarn gifting. So I pulled out a red/white/and blue variegated yarn and a small bit of black yarn that was left over from a previous project. Though I made only one color change in these gloves the variegated yarn creates a interesting pattern in both of the gloves without the extra work of changing your colors.
